The breeding of pure pedigree animals starts in 1962. Following the same criterion applied to the selected heifers from the “ La Cascada” and the “Curumalán” farms and cows purchased at their liquidation in 1966 and 1979, respectively. Also when the “Penimel” farm belonging to Lafuente was liquidated, the best cows were acquired. These cows had been previously purchased by “Penimel” at the “ La Cascada” farm. Bulls were imported from U.K., from the above mentioned farms and the “ Fortin 8 “ farm belonging to Thorny Hill Ltda. S.C.A. (Elordy).
